Whatever fireworks happen after Donald Trump‘s wedding today to model Melania Knauss will be strictly metaphorical.

The Palm Beach Town Council unanimously rejected the couple’s last-minute request for a fireworks display at their nuptials.

Officials said the nine-minute show was planned for the grounds of Mar-A-Lago, Trump’s Palm Beach estate and club.

“We have not approved any fireworks on land in at least 20 years,” Councilman Norman Goldblum said.

The permit application didn’t reach the council until Wednesday. When members hastily convened Thursday afternoon, they worried about showing preference to the billionaire real estate developer and host of “The Apprentice.”

“If this were John Smith or Mary Jones, I don’t believe this council would be called into session with barely 24 hours notice,” Councilman Bill Brooks said.

He wanted a babe, but not her

Angelina Jolie finally has come forward to dispute reports she was the “other woman” in the Jennifer Aniston/Brad Pitt breakup.

“I’ve been painted as the Wicked Witch of the West and a marriage wrecker. But all I’ve ever been to Brad is a shoulder to cry on,” Jolie says in the London Sunday Express. “Half the world believes we had an affair and I’m the one to blame for his split.

“But the truth is I was there to try to help him through his pain. … He longs to be a father, and he’s been in emotional turmoil for a long time because that hasn’t happened for him.”

The betrothed are out there

Speaking of celebrity splits, actor Ben Kingsley (“Gandhi”) and his wife, Alexandra, have separated after 15 months of marriage.

But on a brighter note, former “X-Files” star Gillian Anderson has married longtime boyfriend Julian Ozanne, a documentary filmmaker, exchanging vows last month at a friend’s beach house off the Kenyan coast.

Old dogs, new tricks

And speaking of fatherhood, congratulations to Grammy-winning R&B singer Lou Rawls, 69, and his wife, Nina, who celebrated their first wedding anniversary with the birth of a son on New Year’s Day.

Meanwhile, Jeffrey Tambor (“Arrested Development”) went one better. The 60-year-old actor became both a father again, and a first-time grandfather, within the space of four days last month.

It’s just the way they are

Barbra Streisand says the spark hasn’t gone out of her marriage to actor James Brolin.

“We both have an appreciation of love and sex at the later stages of life,” Streisand, 62, said of her and the 63-year-old Brolin, adding that they stay in bed every Saturday: “We never get dressed.”

Quoteworthy

Donald Trump, on deciding not to televise his wedding ceremony today: “The last marriage that was televised was Prince Charles and Lady Di, and that didn’t work out too well.”
