Polm hits two free throws as Chewelah edges Pullman

Jenny Polm’s two free throws with 30 seconds left Saturday gave Chewelah a 45-43 Great Northern League win over visiting Pullman.

Polm’s free throws gave the Cougars (13-2, 6-1) a 45-41 lead. Nikki Nelson shot 8 of 11 from the field and scored 20 points for Chewelah, which leads Lakeside by one-half game and Riverside by one.

The Greyhounds (8-6, 3-3) got 14 points from Kelli Davis, whose final desperation shot fell short. Davis shot 6 of 7 from the floor.

Lakeside-Nine Mile Falls 44, Medical Lake 39: The host Cardinals (5-9, 1-6) cut the Eagles’ lead to three points with 10 seconds left, but Kelsey Stillar’s two free throws with 8 seconds left secured the win. Kia Gibson led the Eagles (12-2, 5-1) with 14 points. ML’s Miranda Spilker had 14.

Crusaders turn away Panthers

Sara Fairburn scored 18 points and Jessica McFaul added 15 to lead Northwest Christian to a 59-33 win over visiting Valley Christian at Colbert. Fairburn added 14 rebounds and McFaul picked off four steals for the Crusaders (7-9, 6-8). Mandy Cambra scored 10 points to lead the Panthers (4-12, 3-11). … Lind-Ritzville 40, Odessa 30: Jenna Kragt and Mikaela Schmunk combined for 21 points to lead the Broncos (8-8, 8-6) past the visiting Tigers. Andrea Kuch scored 14 points to lead the Tigers (2-14, 2-12). … Wilbur-Creston 48, Reardan 28: Maddisen Peterson scored 19 points and Kaitlyn Reidt pulled down 26 rebounds to lead the Wildcats (5-11, 5-9) past the host Indians. Reardan (3-13, 2-12) got 15 points from Noelle Carstens. … Almira/Coulee-Hartline 55, Davenport 47: At Hartline, the host Warriors trailed 27-24 at the start of the second half, but rallied to defeat the Gorillas. Molly Gwinn scored 16 points to lead three scorers in double figures for ACH (14-2, 13-1). Mallory Mielke had 12 points to lead the Gorillas (9-7, 8-6). … Sprague-Harrington 66, Liberty 64 (OT): The Falcons converted 6 of 10 free throws in OT to defeat the visiting Lancers. Roni Jo Mielke had two free throws with 3.1 seconds left in OT to clinch the win, finishing the game with a team-high 16 points. Jessica Hahner paced the Lancers with 19 points.

Burch’s layup lifts Hornets

Amanda Burch’s layup with 1.6 seconds left lifted Inchelium (14-4, 11-2) to a 45-43 win over visiting Republic (9-8, 7-6). Chelsi Pakootas had 11 points and 16 rebounds to lead the Hornets. Randi Beck had 10 points and Lindsey Krausse added 12 rebounds to lead the Tigers. … Wellpinit 86, Northport 49: The Redskins (11-7, 8-5) had four players score in double figures to topple the visiting Mustangs (2-15, 0-13). Samantha Flett and Lainie Arnoux combined for 39 points to lead Wellpinit. Kaprina Goodwin had 30 points to lead the Mustangs. … Curlew 49, Columbia-Hunters 19: The visiting Cougars (17-1, 12-1) blanked the Lions (2-14, 2-11) in the first quarter to spark the victory. Eagles run late to top Asotin

St. John-Endicott took command in the final 4 minutes of the game to earn a 48-38 victory over visiting Asotin (5-14, 3-8). Sydney Gossard had 14 points for the Eagles (12-6, 7-3), who finished the game on a 14-4 run. Ali Uhlenkoott and Rachel Gundy both scored 11 points to lead Asotin. … Garfield-Palouse 59, Colton 47: Monica Boone had 20 points and grabbed seven boards to lead the Vikings (16-1, 9-1) over the host Wildcats (6-11, 3-7). Gar-Pal’s Jessie Kriebel added 10 points and 10 rebounds.


Scotties romp past Nighthawks

The No. 1-ranked Freeman Scotties (14-2) rolled to a 57-24 victory over visiting Tekoa-Oakesdale (11-6). Jessie DePell pumped in 16 points to lead the Scotties, who forced 27 turnovers and finished the game on a 21-3 run. … Kettle Falls 57, Colville 48: The Bulldogs (10-8) were 12 of 16 from the line to hold off the visiting Indians (1-14). Liz Beardsley had 15 points to spark Kettle Falls. Colville was led by Melissa Rice’s 14-point effort. … LaCrosse-Washtucna 50, St. Michael’s 18: The Tigercats (12-4) built a 20-point lead at intermission and rolled over the host Warrirors (2-14).
