Heart Gallery exhibit travels to Valley Mall

Spokane Valley Mall is hosting a photographic exhibition that brings attention to causes that improve the lives of children and seniors.

The Washington State Heart Gallery is a collection of photographs intended to touch hearts and inspire adults to help others.

Images are captured by professional photographers and bring attention to adoption and foster care, mentoring at-risk teens, caring for the elderly and people with disabilities and helping students who are attending college with the help of the Governor’s Scholarship Fund for youth in foster and kinship care.

The traveling exhibit runs through July 25.

Father and son partners offer chiropractic services

Jacob Fisk has become a partner in his father’s longtime chiropractic practice, South Pines Chiropractic Office, 1124 S. Pines Road.

“I’m excited to be able to work with my dad and serve the people of Spokane Valley,” said Fisk, a fully-certified chiropractic doctor.

Fisk graduated from Life Chiropractic College West and interned with Deed Harrison, a noted researcher.

He interned under his father Michael W. Fisk, a chiropractor who has served clients at South Pines Chiropractic for 23 years. He became a full partner in June.

Two drive-through windows are open a half-hour past regular banking hours.

Lumber milling business expands

A year-old lumber milling business is expanding by 2,800 square feet.

Summit Forrest Products, a lumber manufacturing service for hardwood distributors, is now leasing 9,530 square-feet at Spokane Business and Industrial Park.

“It’s been a good run. We have a great group of customers,” said Mark Voigtlaender, president of the company.

The five employee operation cuts wood to specific size so that manufacturers like Huntwood Industries can put it through its own machinery and make final products.

Voigtlaender said the company plans to expand into architectural milling, which creates molding and other woods for new construction.

“We’ve had many people push us in that direction. As soon as it makes financial sense, we’ll do it.”
