Aloha’s Norris blanks RiverHawks for six innings

Bud Norris pitched six innings of three-hit shutout ball and the Aloha Knights used a seven-run first inning to defeat the Spokane RiverHawks 11-2 on Wednesday night at Spokane Falls Community College.

Aloha (12-2), first place in the West Coast Collegiate League, has won the first two games of the three-games series and is 5-0 against the RiverHawks (3-13) this season.

Norris struck out 11 and walked four while lowering his earned run average to 1.35.

Knights season batting leader Matt Hague had a two-run single during the big first inning, helping to knock out Spokane starter Jason Glushon (0-4).

Andy Lentz’s two-run double gave the Knights a 10-0 lead in the seventh.

Leadoff hitter Darin Holcomb (Gonzaga University/Shadle Park High) went 2 for 6 for the Knights.

Spokane’s Sam Hall had an RBI single and scored in the seventh.
