Stand up for what you say

Interesting that a local weekly newspaper here in Spokane takes a shot at my colleague Isamu Jordan in its most recent issue. No problem there. Som, like the rest of us who write for 7, is a firm believer in fair comment.

What’s interesting, though, is the fact that the shot is anonymous. Which begs the question: How much courage does it take to put your name on a bit of criticism? Apparently more than the critic in question has.

Hey, one of the first things that I learned in journalism school was to stand up for what you write. Someone, it seems pretty clear, needs to find a copy of “All the President’s Men” to rent.
