Workshop for young artists, writers still has openings

Openings are still available for the Lake City Young Artists’ and Writers’ Workshop sponsored by the Citizens Council for the Arts. This 25th annual event is open to students entering the fourth grade (ages 9-10) through age 17. The workshop will be Aug. 1 through 5, 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., at Lake City High School.

The workshop provides the opportunity to write, share stories with other young writers, publish a newspaper, paint, draw and integrate writing with art. All participants will receive a T-shirt with a workshop logo as well as see their art and writing in an eight-page newspaper, and have their pictures and writing displayed on the Art on the Green Web site.

The workshop has a booth at Art on the Green, Aug. 5 through 7, on the North Idaho College campus.
