American Legion tourney comes to CdA
Coeur d’Alene’s McEuen Field will be busy with baseball the next two weeks, beginning with the AA Area A district American Legion tournament on Thursday and concluding with the AA state tourney the following weekend.
In a single district opener Thursday, No. 4 seed Sandpoint takes on No. 5 Cranbrook, British Columbia, at 5 p.m. The winner advances to meet North Idaho League champ and top seed Lewis-Clark at 1 p.m. on Friday. In a second game Friday, No. 2 Coeur d’Alene takes on No. 3 Trail, British Columbia, at 4. A loser-out game follows at 7.
Three games will be played Saturday and the title game is set for 11 a.m. Sunday. A second game for the title, if necessary, would follow on Sunday.
CdA receives an automatic state berth because it will be the state tourney host.
