REALTORS® ‘open the door’ during National Homeownership Month

The Spokane Association of REALTORS®

For the fourth consecutive year, President George W. Bush has designated June as “National Homeownership Month” as a way to encourage public and private entities to increase minority homeownership. In support of this initiative, REALTORS® and REALTOR® associations across America are leading celebrations, organizing homeownership projects and holding home buying and selling seminars in recognition of the month.

“Our more than one million members have the experience, the energy and enthusiasm required to find just the right home for people of all ages, races and nationalities,” said Al Mansell, president of the National Association of REALTORS®.

Dave Crosby, president of the Spokane Association of REALTORS®, said “While homeownership in the United States is at record high levels, there is still a great opportunity to help millions more have a home to call their own. And REALTORS® have a great responsibility to make that happen.”

National Homeownership Month lasts for only 30 days in June, though REALTORS®’ commitment to promoting homeownership never ends.
