Spokane woman wins chalk art title second straight year

For the second year in a row Michelle Fox has taken the top prize of the Hillyard’s ChalkArtWalk.

The eighth annual event attracted 184 competitors, who drew art with chalk on Hillyard sidewalks.

As the winner of this year’s best-in-show prize, Fox, of Spokane, wins a trophy and $100. Her art also will appear on next year’s ChalkArtWalk T-shirt.

Here are the other winners (those listed are from Spokane unless otherwise specified):

“Ages 0 to 5: first, Gabby Cowan; second, Daniel Greben; third, Chevy Cram.

“Ages 6 to 10: first, Justice Hille; second, David Greben; third, Sarah Stray, of Liberty Lake.

“Ages 11 to 15: first, Jonathan Cooney; second, Emily Franklin; third, Jaia Moore.

“Ages 16 to 20: first, Matt Kamerer; second, Gelena Savage; third, Nic Koffel.

“Ages 21 and up: first, Kali Green; second, Michael Ankney; third, Robert Scott, of Deer Park.
