Associated Press

Ryan Gipson’s single drove in the go-ahead run in the sixth inning and Andy Jenkins added a three-run home run in the eighth to lead Oregon State to a 10-4 victory over error-prone Southern California Saturday night at Corvallis, Ore.

The Beavers fell behind 4-1 early, but capitalized on eight Trojans errors for the opening advantage in the best-of-3 NCAA Super Regional series.

The winner of the Super Regional will be among eight teams that head to Omaha, Neb., from Friday through June 27 for the College World Series.

Oregon State (45-9) was ranked No. 2 in the country by Baseball America. The Pacific-10 Conference champions are 25-4 at home.

Florida 8, Florida State 5

At Gainesville, Fla., Brian Leclerc’s two-run homer capped a four-run first and helped put Florida in the College World Series for the first time in seven years.

The Gators improved to 5-0 in the NCAA tournament and extended their postseason winning streak against the Seminoles to seven games. Florida (45-20) will play Tennessee.

Nebraska 6, Miami 3

At Lincoln, Neb., Alex Gordon, Joe Simokaitis and Ryan Bohanan homered and freshman Johnny Dorn pitched 6 1/3 solid innings as Nebraska earned a trip to the College World Series for the third time in five years with a 6-3 victory over Miami.

The Cornhuskers (56-13), who won the best-of-3 NCAA Super Regional 2-0, return to the World Series – 50 miles away in Omaha – after making consecutive appearances in 2001-02. The Hurricanes (41-19-1) will miss the CWS for the first time since 2002 and only the fourth time since 1993.

Tennessee 13, Georgia Tech 3

At Atlanta, Michael Rivera’s three-run homer highlighted a six-run third and Tennessee earned its fourth trip to the College World Series.

The Volunteers (46-19) pounded out 16 hits and freshman left-hander James Adkins allowed three runs on seven hits over 7 2/3 innings to record the win. He also had 11 strikeouts with a walk.
