Girls All-State games on tap

The annual Washington All-State Girls Basketball Games for Class 2A, 1A and B athletes are scheduled for Saturday at Mead High School.

The B East vs. West game is set for 1:30 p.m.; the 1A East vs. West at 3:15; and the 2A East vs. West at 5.

Cost is $5 for adults and $3 for seniors and children 12 and younger.

Several Associated Press All-State selections are scheduled to participate, including Freeman 1A Player of the Year Jessie DePell. She will be on the East team along with Columbia-Burbank All-State selection Lauren Rada. The West is led by Napavine All-State Katie Carns.

Among the B teams, All-Stater Holli Holbrook of Garfield-Palouse and Kimberly Bluff from state champion Cusick are on the East. High-scoring Dora Mae Brings Yellow of Taholah heads the West.

Seven Great Northern League players, including Sarah Scates of state runner-up Chewelah, and 4A player Heidi Heintz from Central Valley are listed on the 2A East team.

Danielle Clauson, who scored 24 points in the 2A state title game, and Caitlyn Faidley, both from champion King’s, lead the West.
