The Spokesman-Review

Spokane’s Alex Prugh shot a 3-under-par 69 Wednesday to tie for the lead at the halfway point of the 79th Washington State Men’s Amateur Championship at Moses Lake.

Prugh (University of Washington/Ferris High) followed up Tuesday’s 70 to tie Othello’s Bart Patitucci at 5-under 139, four shots ahead of the field. Patitucci shot a 33, with four birdies, on the back nine.

The field was cut to 60 for today’s third round and Friday’s final round at The Links at Moses Pointe.

Prugh’s Huskies teammate Zach Bixler, a first-round co-leader, fired a 74 and is tied for third place with Josh Immordino of Auburn, Wash. The other first-round leaders, Jeff McNaughton of Edmonds, Wash., and Steven Dales of Abbotsford, British Columbia, are in a group at 145.

Colville’s Kent Brown shot a 76 and is tied for 17th at 148. Another shot back is Nick Grigsby (Central Valley High), who carded a 74.
