Storm rally burns Sun, snaps streak

Betty Lennox scored 23 of her season-high 29 points in the second half as the Seattle Storm rallied to end the Connecticut Sun’s eight-game winning streak with a 95-86 victory Wednesday night.

Seattle, which reached a season high in points, took its first lead at 81-80 on a pair of free throws from Sue Bird with 4:32 left. Taj McWilliams-Franklin responded at the other end, but Janell Burse’s putback with 3:45 left gave the Storm the lead for good.

Lauren Jackson added 23 points and a season-high 17 rebounds for Seattle. McWilliams-Franklin led the Sun with 21 points.

Lynx 76, Mercury 59: Nicole Ohlde scored 10 of her 14 points in the second half to lead Minnesota over slumping Phoenix.

Vanessa Hayden and Katie Smith added 12 points apiece for the Lynx. Diana Taurasi scored 14 points and Penny Taylor 12 for Phoenix, which has lost four of its last five games.
