The Spokesman-Review

MOSES LAKE, Wash. – Alex Prugh has been the most consistent golfer through three rounds of the 79th Washington State Men’s Amateur Championship.

Prugh, the only player in the field to shoot under par each round, fired a 2-under 70 on Thursday and will take a two-stroke lead into today’s final 18 holes at The Links at Moses Pointe.

Prugh (University of Washington/Ferris High) leads Josh Immordino of Auburn, Wash., by two strokes and Huskies teammate Zach Bixler of Richland by three. Immordino had the day’s low round – a 68 in calmer winds.

Northwest Open champion Erik Hanson of Kirkland, Wash., at 215, is the only other competitor within less than eight strokes of Prugh.

Colville’s Kent Brown and Nick Grigsby (Central Valley High) are tied for 19th at 222. Spokane’s Craig Leslie (226) is one shot behind Mark West of Fairchild AFB.
