Cardinal whip Cal in Pac-10 quarterfinals

Susan King Borchardt scored 14 points to lead No. 2 Stanford to a 81-40 win over rival California in the quarterfinals of the Pacific-10 Conference tournament Saturday in San Jose, Calif.

Brooke Smith added 12 points, six rebounds and four assists and Candice Wiggins had 10 points and eight rebounds for the Cardinal (27-2), winners of 18 straight.

Stanford will play Southern Cal in a semifinal game today at 3 p.m.

Jessica Lawson had 10 points and four rebounds for Cal (11-18).
