Miss Spokane Valley candidates announced

The Spokane Valley Chamber of Commerce has announced the candidates for Miss Spokane Valley 2005.

They are: Chelsie Hardwick, Britta Dahlstrom, Katie Eyster and Carrie Fraser from East Valley High School.

Amanda Betker, Josselyn Meagley, Ashley Bell, Leah Heideman and Alexandra Martin from West Valley High School.

Carly Jordan, Rachel Smith and Amanda Hansen from University High School.

Stephanie Johnson from Central Valley High School.

And Laura Schlect from Valley Christian School.

The coronation to select Miss Spokane Valley and her court of two ambassadors will be held next Saturday in West Valley High School’s theater. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the program starts at 7.

The court will represent the community at parades, business grand openings and special community events until March 2006.

The program recognizes academic achievement and community service. Miss Spokane Valley will receive a $1,000 scholarship, and the second and third runners-up each will receive a $500 scholarship.

Tickets are $12.50 for adults, $7.50 for students and $4 for children. They can be purchased by calling the chamber at 924-4994 or visiting its offices at 9507 E. Sprague Ave.
