EWU must wait for word on Jordan
Thu., March 17, 2005
Eastern Washington University students will not know for certain if the university’s president has been hired away until March 29.
EWU President Stephen Jordan said he’s very interested in being president of Metropolitan State College of Denver. He interviewed Tuesday as the only finalist for the job.
Metropolitan faculty, trustee members and students seemed pleased with Jordan, university spokeswoman Cathy Lucas said.
But Colorado law requires that a state school must wait two weeks after an interview before the board of trustees can announce a decision to hire an applicant, Lucas said. A Metropolitan board of trustees meeting is scheduled for March 29.
