Topp helps PF top Lewiston in softball opener

Sean Topp hit a three-run homer during a four-run third inning Wednesday, powering Post Falls to a 7-5 win to open an Inland Empire League softball doubleheader at Lewiston.

Amy Seale, Julie Andrews and Amber Harrison tripled during a three-run fourth as the host Bengals rallied to win the second game 10-0. Andrews (1-0) pitched a six-hitter.

PF’s Heather Glaze had two triples and a single in the opener. Sara Dufor had three of Lewiston’s five hits.

Also in the league, Kellee Jost homered and had four RBIs as Lake City romped to a 28-4 win at Sandpoint. Richelle Fenenbock added two triples and a single, and Georgia Burke homered for the Timberwolves.

Track and field

The annual Christina Finney Co-Ed Relays at Post Falls High School, scheduled for today, has been postponed because of chilly weather and the possibility of snow. The meet has been rescheduled for April 12.
