Seminar for neighborhood leaders will be Saturday
The Building Stronger Neighborhoods Committee will host a “How to be a Neighborhood Leader” seminar from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday at the West Central Community Center, 1603 N. Belt St.
The committee believes that building new leadership is important so that new neighborhood leaders are ready before current leaders step down.
Current neighborhood leaders are encouraged to bring someone from their neighborhood who had been recently elected or appointed, or someone who is showing an interest in being involved.
Topics will include expectations of a neighborhood leader, what makes being a leader palatable and what you need from your neighborhood to be a successful leader.
Discussions also will focus on what neighborhood leaders have in common, your neighborhood’s unique needs, and skills and tips to help you be successful.
