Buy your tickets now to get a seat

Months, months ago a theater near, near a-you, Jedi wannabes started wringing their hands in anticipation of that low “hoooo-puhhhh” sound that could mean only one thing: Darth Vader is coming.

And at 12:01 the morning of May 18, those Padawans will learn if George Lucas chose the light side, or if he again strayed down the dark path of the first two prequels by pitching the remains of his legacy into the bland sea of mediocrity and kid-oriented marketing À la Jar-Jar.

If you’re the type who prefers hearing news first hand – rather than from bean-spillers at the office drinking fountain – it’s high time to start thinking about tickets, tickets, tickets.

Tickets for AMC showings are available at the River Park Square box office, online at www.moviewatcher.com/starwars or by calling 747-3456.

Regal Cinemas is pre-selling tickets for midnight and regular showings at NorthTown Mall, Spokane Valley Mall and Showboat cinemas, available at their respective box offices or www.fandango.com.

Sounds easy, right? You don’t have to sleep in line for days to grab tickets – they’re just a click or call away. But that also means people are snagging them early, and some of the first showings are already sold out.

So get moving, or that brown robe and faux light saber ensemble might turn out to be a wasted investment.
