Preservation group cleaning up gardens at Corbin Center

The Spokane Preservation Advocates will host its monthly clean-up project in the Turner-Moore Gardens at the Corbin Art Center.

Saturday’s project from 9 a.m. to noon will carry out plant maintenance, clean up litter, and will involve the restoration of one of the garden stairways.

The project is part of the Spokane Preservation Advocates’ monthly Doing-It Projects. The group is a nonprofit organization dedicated to hands-on preservation of historic locations in Spokane.

The committee is always looking for community members to help with the projects.

Volunteers are asked to wear gardening clothes, boots and sturdy gloves; and to bring hoes, clippers and rakes.

A light breakfast will be provided; reservations must be made by calling Kelly Lordan at 838-5835, or Ann Cronkhite at 747-7239.
