Failure? All that Pitt can see is the bowl of cherries
Brad Pitt says he’s still proud of his relationship with Jennifer Aniston, four months after their separation. “There’s a beauty in our coming together, there’s a beauty in our time together, and there’s a beauty in this, for us,” Pitt tells GQ magazine.
“The idea that marriage has to be for all time – that I don’t understand,” he adds.
“It’s talked about like it failed, I guess because it wasn’t flawless. Me, I embrace the messiness of life. I find it so beautiful, actually.”
The couple separated in January after more than four years of marriage, and Aniston filed for divorce in March.
While it was reported that he wanted children and she didn’t, Pitt says the reasons behind the split were “complex and multifaceted” and “not one thing.”
He calls rumors about his relationship with Angelina Jolie “hurtful.” And while he’s not ready to remarry and start a family yet, he says: “I’m not worried that it’s not gonna happen. I’ll make it happen. You go make the thing that you want.”
Renee: Let’s just ‘I do’ it
Kenny Chesney‘s proposal to Renee Zellweger apparently was no candlelight dinner and bent knee affair.
In fact, he said after Tuesday’s Academy of Country Music awards show, there wasn’t one.
“She wouldn’t let me, really. She just told me to name a town and place and she’d be there,” Chesney said.
They were wed May 9 in a small ceremony on the Caribbean island of St. John in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Asked what it’s like being married, Chesney replied: “To be honest with you, it’s not all that different. I’m just not searching anymore.”
Tom dives head over heels for Katie
If you think Tom Cruise is less inhibited about showing public affection for Katie Holmes than in his past relationships, you’re right.
“I am so happy and I am not going to pretend or hide it or be shy,” he tells “Access Hollywood,” adding: This woman is magnificent.”
The 42-year-old Cruise says he shares many common interests and hobbies with the 26-year-old Holmes.
“We go scuba diving together,” he says. “She likes all the stuff that I love to do, she’s funny and smart.”
Cruise’s marriages to Mimi Rogers and Nicole Kidman ended in divorce, and his relationship with Penelope Cruz ended last year.
Get well, little buddy
Bob Denver, star of the 1960s television show “Gilligan’s Island,” is recuperating from quadruple heart bypass surgery.
Denver, 70, had the surgery recently after a checkup revealed problems, his publicist said. The actor is recuperating at his West Virginia home.
Godspeed, gentle Joan
Amber Tamblyn is philosophical about the cancellation of her CBS series “Joan of Arcadia.”
“I loved it for what it was and it’s gone and that’s sad, but that’s the way it goes,” said the 22-year-old actress, who portrayed a teen who talked to God.
Tamblyn said she was happy to do two seasons of “a really incredible show than like eight years on a mediocre, not-so-good show.”
