ABBOTSFORD, British Columbia – Brett Hite turned out the lights on the Abbotsford Rangers.

Hite, a forward from University High and the University of Washington, totaled two goals and one assist in the final 23 minutes Saturday night to rally the Spokane Shadow to a 4-2 win in USL Premier Development League play at Bateman Park.

Hite leads the Shadow with three goals and four assists.

The Shadow (3-1-0, nine points) also defeated Abbotsford 2-1 on May 13. The last-place Rangers are 0-4-0.

Abbotsford took a 1-0 lead into halftime, courtesy of Simon Crocker’s goal off a penalty kick in the first minute.

Skye Henderson (Lewis and Clark High/Whitworth) scored his second goal of the season for Spokane to tie the match at 1 early in the second half.

The Rangers took a 2-1 lead at 61 minutes, but Hite fed Dustin Allberry for the tying goal 6 minutes later. Allberry (North Central High), who assisted on Henderson’s goal, has three goals and two assists this season.

Hite scored the game-winning goal at 72 minutes, taking a feed from Jake Moug. It was the second assist of the season for the Riverside High/Warner-Pacific product.

Hite added an unassisted goal with 3 minutes left.

Spokane’s next match is Friday night on the road against the Yakima Reds.

The Shadow return to Albi Stadium on June 4 against Abbotsford.
