Gee, what a surprise – the PTC has a beef with Paris

A CARL’S JR. hamburger commercial starring a scantily clad Paris Hilton frolicking with a water hose is too hot for a media watchdog group.

“This commercial is basically soft-core porn,” said Melissa Caldwell, research director for the Parents Television Council. “It’s inappropriate for television.”

The group plans to mobilize its more than 1 million members to protest and is considering asking the Federal Communications Commission to declare the ad indecent.

The commercial shows the hotel heiress and reality TV star vamping in a revealing swimsuit as she soaps and rinses a black Bentley. She also takes a bite out of a Carl’s Jr. hamburger.

The commercial for the jalapeno-laden “Spicy BBQ Six-Dollar Burger” ends with Hilton’s signature tag line, “that’s hot.”

Said Carl’s Jr. marketing chief Brad Haley: “She fascinates Carl’s Jr.’s most loyal customers – young, hungry guys, as well as young, hungry gals.”

Painting the town Reid

Speaking of party girls, actress Tara Reid has signed on as the new host of “Wild On” on E! Entertainment Television. New episodes of the racy travel series debut in August.

“You might think you know her from the myriad magazines highlighting her Hollywood high life, but you are about to experience the real Tara,” E! says.

“We’re no longer the fly on the wall, this time we are on the dance floor, at the bar and even in the penthouses, as we follow the only girl who truly knows how to paint the town (or in this case, the world!) red.”

Sciorra’s singing a different tune

Annabella Sciorra has become the latest “Sopranos” star to cross police lines to “Law & Order.”

The 41-year-old actress, who played Tony Soprano’s mistress on the HBO mafia drama, will join the cast of NBC’s “Law & Order: Criminal Intent,” it was announced Tuesday.

Sciorra will play police detective Carolyn Barek, the partner of detective Mike Logan (Chris Noth). Earlier this year, she guest-starred on “Law & Order: Trial by Jury.”

Other “Sopranos” stars to try the other side of the law: Michael Imperioli was a guest star on “Law & Order” earlier this year; in March, Lorraine Bracco appeared on “Law & Order: Trial by Jury”; and Edie Falco played a defense lawyer on “Law & Order” before taking the role of Mrs. Soprano.

She sure had enough of Ray’s whine

Patricia Heaton, who played Ray Romano‘s wife on “Everybody Loves Raymond,” is talking to TNT about starring in the TV movie “The Engagement Ring.”

It’s reportedly a “Sideways”-influenced, “Moonstruck”-like romance about the daughter of a winery owner who falls for the nephew of the man who runs a neighboring vineyard.

Motley grand cru, anyone?

Motley Crue frontman Vince Neil has joined in a California winemaking venture called Vince Vineyards.

“I have enjoyed great wine for most of my life, and I wanted to create something other wine lovers could experience and appreciate,” Neil says.
