Each year, the Spokane Association of REALTORS® recognizes a citizen of our community who has contributed in a special way to make Spokane a better city.

Rob Brewster, ConoverBond Development, a man who practices what he preaches, has been named the Association’s 2005 Citizen of the Year.

Raised in Spokane, Brewster graduated from Lewis and Clark High School and Santa Clara University. He spent time working in Washington D.C., built homes and schools with an aid organization in Panama, and visited Austria and Costa Rica. In the late 1990’s he returned to Spokane and started to invest in his community.

In 2000, one of his projects, the Holley-Mason Building, won a state historic preservation award. Other projects by this unique Spokane developer include the Catacombs, an underground restaurant; Havermale Park, a $22 million dollar mixed-use development, and the recently opened $3.5 million project, the Montvale Hotel.

Known for his independence, energy and an insatiable desire for success, Brewster said, “If I am going to choose to live in a community, then I sure want it to be the best community possible. I don’t want to live in a mediocre place. I want to do something to make it more fun, more interesting, make it successful.”
