CenterStage board needs new members

CenterStage, the downtown Spokane dinner theater and performing arts space, is looking for new members for its board of directors.

Auditions

•The Spokane Civic Theater is holding auditions for its Reading Stage production of “Broadway Bound” by Neil Simon on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Firth J. Chew Studio Theater, in the lower level of the Civic, 1020 N. Howard St. (entrance off Dean Avenue).

Both men and women are needed. The roles are not age-specific.

The performance will be one night only, Dec. 11. For information, call the theater at 325-1413.

•The Lake City Playhouse, 1320 E. Garden Ave., Coeur d’Alene, is holding auditions for its production of “Kiss Me Kate,” featuring the music of Cole Porter, Nov. 28 through 30 at 6:30 p.m.

Men and women ages 15 and older are needed for performances Feb. 17 through March 4. Auditioners should wear clothing that is easy to move in for dancing and prepare a song with sheet music.

The theater also is looking for volunteers to usher or run the concession stand during its performances of “It’s a Wonderful Life,” Nov. 26 through Dec. 17. All volunteers can see the show for free.

Classes and workshops

•Play-Makers is presenting another playwriting workshop for adults today from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at Barnes & Noble Booksellers, 15310 E. Indiana Ave.

•The Tinman Gallery, 811 W. Garland Ave., is offering the following classes. For information, call the gallery at 325-1500.

Paper Trivet, Monday, 6 to 8 p.m., $10; Make It and Take It, seasonally themed cards, Tuesday, 6 to 8 p.m., $10; Calligraphy for Place Cards, Wednesday, 6 to 8:30 p.m., $10; and Gobble Gobble Day Turkey Cards for kids, Saturday, 1 to 2 p.m., $5.

•Corbin Art Center, 507 W. Seventh Ave., is offering the following classes sponsored by Spokane Parks and Recreation. Registration is required; call 625-6200.
