Carnival will benefit Episcopal Relief and Development

Today brings an opportunity to have fun and raise money at the same time. The Episcopal Church of the Resurrection will host a carnival today from 5 to 7 p.m. to benefit Episcopal Relief and Development.

There will be food, games, prizes and a jumping castle for kids. Game tickets will be available at four for $1.

The church also will hold its monthly First Tuesday gathering at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Guest speaker Dan Kleckner, news anchor at KHQ, will speak on what feeds his faith. Refreshments will be served.

Lunch Bunch series begins

Opportunity Christian Church will start its annual Lunch Bunch series Monday. The series of discussions will be held from noon to 1 p.m. every Monday during October and will use a video-based small group study titled “Confronting the Controversies.” Topics include the separation of church and state, creationism and evolution in public school, the death penalty, euthanasia and prayer in public schools.

Those attending are welcome to bring a sack lunch. No advance registration is necessary. Call 926-3691 for more information.

Rummage sale

Opportunity Presbyterian Church, 202 N. Pines Road, will host a rummage sale next Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Items will include furniture, baby goods, household items, clothing and dishes.
