At least Paris and Paris will always have … themselves

The Spokesman-Review

Paris Hilton says she ended her five-month engagement to a Greek shipping heir because she’s “not ready for marriage” and didn’t want it to end in divorce. The 24-year-old celebutante-turned-model broke off wedding plans with Paris Latsis, 22, because she didn’t want to rush into marriage too quickly.

“I feel I’m just not ready for marriage,” Hilton. “I have seen the breakups between people who love each other and rush into getting married too quickly. I do not want to make that mistake.”

The couple became engaged in the spring, and Latsis gave the hotel heiress a 24 carat, $5 million diamond engagement ring.

Hilton said she still loves Latsis, and the pair will continue to work together on business endeavors and have “movies together in the works.”

“I’m still young and still have a very active career that I’m not prepared to give up,” she said. “I have worked very hard to get to where I am. Paris is a great guy, and we will handle this with dignity and respect.”

Sounds like they were both big babies

Meanwhile, we’re hearing conflicting reports about what killed the fledgling four-month marriage of actress Renee Zellweger and country music star Kenny Chesney.

According to Country Weekly magazine, Chesney blamed a big concert tour that coincided with the marriage: “It really ended up being too much. At some point I just got exhausted.”

But the Star tabloid reports that Zellweger, 36, wanted kids right away, while Chesney, 37, wanted to wait.

Zellweger filed for an annulment last month, citing “fraud” as her reason.

So who’s the godfather?

Nicolas Cage and his third wife, Alice Kim Cage, are the proud parents of a baby boy, Kal-el Coppola Cage. Cage, a nephew of filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola, was previously married to Lisa Marie Presley and actress Patricia Arquette.

Willis wants no strings attached

Word has it that Bruce Willis has forbidden ex-wife Demi Moore from exposing their children to the controversial Kabbalah religion.

Moore, 42, and 27-year-old actor Ashton Kutcher were married last month in a Kabbalah-style ceremony. Devotees often wear red string bracelets.

OK! Magazine reportedly has paid $3 million for photos of the ceremony and an exclusive interview with the newlyweds, with the money going to hurricane relief.

It’s a great place to entertain friends

Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt, whose divorce officially became final on Sunday, have put their $28 million Beverly Hills mansion up for sale.

It includes a screening room with black leather seats, an art studio with skylights, a pub with glass walls opening to an outdoor fireplace, pool and spa, and a tennis court.

Speaking of old hippies …

Jane Fonda canceled plans to attend Monday’s premiere of a documentary about her former husband, Roger Vadim, in southern France because of hip and back pain that prompted her to seek treatment at a Paris hospital.

Fonda was married to Vadim, who directed her in his 1968 sci-fi sexual spoof, “Barbarella,” from 1965 to 1973. He died in 2000.
