Way to go, paparazzi – you weren’t the weasels

AUTHORITIES INVESTIGATING a car crash involving Lindsay Lohan say that contrary to reports from some witnesses, paparazzi had nothing to do with it.

Lohan, 19, and a female passenger sustained minor injuries Tuesday after the actress’ black Mercedes-Benz convertible collided with a van on a busy West Hollywood street.

The driver of the van made a U-turn in front of Lohan, said a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department spokesman, adding: “She happens to be an innocent victim in all of this. The paparazzi, as far as we can tell, have nothing to do in terms of the accident.”

Witnesses said Lohan was shopping at a clothing store and was confronted by dozens of photographers who swarmed her car a short time before the crash.

Lohan was involved in a May 31 traffic accident when she tried to evade a photographer who collided with her. The photographer was arrested for investigation of assault with a deadly weapon for allegedly crashing his car deliberately into Lohan’s.

But wasn’t Marilyn a bit more … loaded?

Meanwhile, Lindsay Lohan is baring all for an upcoming Vanity Fair cover, according to In Touch Magazine.

The 19-year-old “Herbie: Fully Loaded” star reportedly wants to show off her new, healthy figure following months of speculation that she was dangerously thin.

In a few of the photos, she’s said to re-create poses by one of her idols, Marilyn Monroe.

At least Babyface is being an adult about it

Add Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds to the growing list of celebrity divorcees.

Edmonds and his wife, Tracey, issued a statement Wednesday announcing the end of their 13-year marriage after being unofficially separated “for quite some time.” They have two young children.

The couple, who have produced movies and TV shows, including “Soul Food,” said they “remain best friends” and will continue to work together on business ventures.

Another ‘Ring’ for Renee?

Renee Zellweger, who filed for annulment from country singer Kenny Chesney after a mere four months of wedlock, will star in a Hollywood remake of the Hong Kong horror movie “The Eye.”

Japan’s Hideo Nakata will direct the film, which tells the story of a young woman who sees the visions of the dead woman whose corneas she inherited in a transplant.

Nakata directed the 1998 horror film “Ringu,” which was remade as “The Ring,” and “The Ring Two.”

Over the rainbow, and back by dinnertime

Singer Melissa Etheridge, fresh from beating breast cancer, says she’s working on a sitcom.

The show, still in development with ABC, is about “what my life might have been like had I not left to find my fame and fortune, and stayed in Kansas and became a teacher and been gay and dealt with life there,” Etheridge tells Time magazine.

The two-time Grammy winner says she doesn’t want to rely on touring to make a living, and a television show would allow her to “be home for dinner.”
