Puget Sound 23, Pacific Lutheran 13: Fullback James Olcott ran for a pair of 1-yard touchdowns in the second half Saturday as the Loggers (3-2, 1-1) snapped a 17-game losing streak to the Lutes (0-4, 0-2) in Northwest Conference play at Sparks Stadium in Puyallup, Wash.

PLU led 13-9 after Chris Maine threw a 30-yard TD pass to Chase Reed early in the second half.

But the Loggers took the lead for good on Olcott’s first score, with 1 minute, 11 seconds left in the third quarter. Olcott provided an insurance score with 9:30 left in the game.

Maine opened the scoring with a 45-yard TD pass to Jacob Washburn in the first quarter. UPS blocked Neal Chalmers’ extra-point attempt.

UPS freshman Joe Stuckrath connected on a 24-yard field goal late in the first quarter.

The Loggers took their first lead on Andy Carlson’s 17-yard scoring pass to flanker Rory Lee with 6:44 left in the first half. Stuckrath’s PAT attempt was blocked, making the score 9-6 at halftime.

Central Wash. 37, Western Wash. 17: At Qwest Field in Seattle, Mike Reilly completed 22 of 34 passes for 247 yards and three TDs as the Wildcats (4-2, 2-0) defeated the Vikings (2-4, 1-1) in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference.
