IT’S BLOND – James blond. Daniel Craig, who played Paul Newman‘s psychopathic son in “Road to Perdition,” is reportedly the new choice to star as debonair screen spy James Bond.

Craig, 37, replaces Pierce Brosnan, 52, in the 007 franchise. An official announcement is expected today.

He may be better known to tabloid readers than moviegoers. Craig dated supermodel Kate Moss and lately has been linked to Sienna Miller, Jude Law‘s former fiancée.

Craig becomes the seventh actor to play Bond, following Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton and Brosnan. David Niven starred in 1967’s “Casino Royale,” rewritten as a spoof.

Also reportedly in the running were Clive Owen, Ioan Gruffudd, Colin Firth, Hugh Grant, Ewan McGregor, Colin Farrell, Hugh Jackman, Heath Ledger and Eric Bana.

The next Bond film, also based on “Casino Royale” – the 1953 Ian Fleming novel which introduced the character – is set to begin filming early next year.

Keira gets a bum rush

No, that’s not Keira Knightley‘s actual behind shaking its stuff during the lap dance scene in her new movie, “Domino,” which opens today.

The decision was made to use a body double, the 20-year-old Knightley says.

“I walk into the office and there are three naked women all standing there,” she recalls. “And (the director) goes, ‘Which one do you want?’ Wow. So I picked my bum.”

Knightley does appear topless later in the film.

We find this troubling

“Lost” TV star Josh Holloway and his wife reportedly were robbed at gunpoint in their home in Honolulu.

There was no indication the robber recognized the 36-year-old actor, who plays hunky con man Sawyer on the ABC castaway drama.

The robber rousted the couple from bed early Wednesday, took cash and credit cards and drove off in Holloway’s Mercedes-Benz, which was found abandoned a short time later, a Honolulu television station reported. Police would not release any information.

Motley Crue, meet Spinal Tap

Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee was burned Wednesday when a pyrotechnics stunt went wrong at a concert in Casper, Wyo.

The 43-year-old rocker, who was injured toward the end of the band’s set, played one more song before the concert was cut short. He wasn’t badly hurt, but was taken to a hospital for treatment, police said.

Sounds like the first lady had more than one

Stockard Channing has pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor drunken driving charge stemming from an incident last year on the Hollywood Freeway.

Channing, who won an Emmy for her role as the first lady on NBC’s “The West Wing” and currently stars in CBS’ new medical sitcom “Out of Practice,” was ordered to pay a $390 fine and take part in an alcohol education program. She also was placed on 36 months of probation.

The 61-year-old actress was arrested Dec. 14 after allegedly trying to drive around a roadblock set up so a tow truck could remove a disabled tractor-trailer.
