Sounds like Craig was both shaken and stirred

So how did Daniel Craig celebrate being named the new James Bond? “I had a couple of martinis when I found out,” the sandy-haired English actor said Friday at a press conference formally announcing his selection.

Craig, 37, said he only found out Monday that he definitely had the part in the next Bond film, “Casino Royale,” due in November 2006.

Saying he was “feeling intimidated about pretty much everything,” Craig added: “It is a sort of responsibility, but it is also a huge adventure.”

He replaces Pierce Brosnan, who starred in the last four Bond films. Craig is only the second Englishman to play the suave British superspy, joining Roger Moore.

His favorite Bond? Sean Connery. Favorite Bond film? “Goldfinger.”

Favorite Bond girl? Diana Rigg in “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service.”

But he brushed aside questions about supermodel Kate Moss and actress Sienna Miller, both of whom he’s dated.

“I’m not going to get into that,” he said.

So much for that double major

Mary-Kate Olsen, who shared a role with her twin sister, Ashley, on the ‘80s comedy “Full House,” has left college – at least for now – early in her sophomore year.

Her publicist said she “has not dropped out, she has simply taken an approved leave of absence to devote more of her time and energy to her business.”

The Olsen twins, now 19, have created a multimedia empire with a clothing line, feature films, direct-to-video movies and other merchandise. Each is estimated to be worth more than $150 million.

A little bud for Blossom

Mayim Bialik, star of the 1990s sitcom “Blossom,” is the new mother of a baby boy.

The baby, born Tuesday, is the first child for the 29-year-old actress and her husband, Michael Stone.

And a new address for Tori’s hubby

Former “Beverly Hills, 90201” star Tori Spelling‘s husband has filed for divorce, a little more than a year after the couple married.

Actor-writer Charlie Shanian is seeking spousal support from Spelling, according to court papers. They met in 2002 as co-stars in Shanian’s romantic stage comedy “Maybe, Baby It’s You.”

But what about his dirty laundry?

New York Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton has agreed to show Ellen DeGeneres around Manhattan when the comedian takes her talk show to New York City for Thanksgiving week.

On her show taped Thursday, DeGeneres congratulated Clinton on her 30-year marriage to former President Bill Clinton.

“He’s the kind of person you really want to be married to for 30 years because he washes dishes,” Clinton said, adding that he’s feeling better since heart bypass surgery.

Suppose her dealer came to her window?

Melissa Etheridge says she smoked medicinal marijuana to help with the side effects of chemotherapy during her treatment for breast cancer.

The 44-year-old singer says in an interview to air Sunday on “Dateline NBC” that she smoked marijuana every day for her pain and symptoms and “the minute I didn’t feel it, I stopped.”
