Watson’s goal gives Stags win

Jaclyan Watson scored the game’s only goal in the 38th minute as Deer Park shut out Lakeside 1-0 in Great Northern League girls soccer Saturday at Nine Mile Falls.

Watson’s goal just 2 minutes before the half came from 6 yards out to give the Stags (7-5, 5-3, 15 points) the win over the Eagles (5-7, 4-4, 11 points), despite Lakeside outshooting Deer Park 13-8.

In other GNL action, Cory Druffel had a hat trick and added an assist as Pullman (11-1, 8-0, 23 points) routed Colville (4-7, 2-6, 6 points) 7-0 in Pullman. Sami Johnson added a goal and an assist and Katie Spangenberg had a goal for the Greyhounds, who outshot the Indians 20-4.

Cross country

Richard Keroack‘s second-place finish led West Valley to a first-place boys finish at the Can-Am Invitational in Kettle Falls. Keroack completed the 3.1-mile course in 16 minutes, 57 seconds as WV finished with 33 points, one ahead of second-place Colville.

On the girls’ side, WV’s Larsen Agee took home first place with a time of 20:06 as West Valley earned a second-place team finish with 66 points, four points behind Colville. Rogers finished third with 70 points.
