Madonna the focus of MTV, VH1 shows

Associated Press

It will be a Madonna-thon of sorts on MTV’s networks over the next few weeks.

The pop queen, who is due to release a new album next month, will appear on MTV’s “Total Request Live” today (5 p.m., cable channel 63 in Spokane, 43 in Coeur d’Alene) to play her single “Hung Up.”

On Friday at 10 p.m., the network will premiere her new documentary, “I’m Going to Tell You a Secret,” which chronicles her exploits during last year’s “The Re-Invention Tour.”

The film also will air the following week on sister network VH1, which will have the world premiere of Madonna’s “Hung Up” video later this month.

“Confessions on a Dance Floor,” her new album, is set for release Nov. 15.

Like stones through the hourglass …

NBC’s daytime soap opera “Days of Our Lives” is celebrating its 40th anniversary by airing the world premiere of the Rolling Stones video “Streets of Love.”

The video will air during Tuesday’s episode (1 p.m., KHQ-6 in Spokane). “Days of Our Lives” will then use the song as a soundtrack for some scenes over the next month.

The Stones, who happen to have been touring for 40 years, are on the road again behind their new album, “A Bigger Bang.”
