Stallone gives it another shot as the Rocky of ages

The Spokesman-Review

YO ADRIAN! ROCKY is planning another comeback. Fifteen years after starring in “Rocky V,” Sylvester Stallone is reprising his role as the boxing champ in the sixth “Rocky” movie.

The 59-year-old actor will write and direct “Rocky Balboa,” which will begin shooting in Philadelphia and Las Vegas next year.

He said it will focus on an aging, widowed Rocky who is reluctant to get back in the ring but does so “just to compete, not to win.”

“I am drawing on a lot of my feelings that are in synch with many people’s feelings about facing the last chapter of their lives and how they want it to be written,” he said.

It’s unclear whether Talia Shire, who appeared in five previous “Rocky” films as the boxer’s love interest, Adrian, will return.

“In the script, she did pass away, but it’s unsure whether she might appear in a flashback or in older footage,” said a spokesman for Revolution Studios, which is co-producing the film.

Please, Paris, don’t make this complicated

Fox may have canceled “The Simple Life,” but Paris Hilton says she isn’t giving up yet.

“We’re shooting Nov. 1,” the 24-year-old hotel heiress says, adding: “All the networks are fighting over it.”

Fox said its midseason schedule didn’t have a time slot for a fourth season of the reality show starring Hilton and Nicole Richie, prompting speculation the feuding ex-friends no longer proved compatible.

Litigate it like Beckham

David Beckham and his wife, former Spice Girl Victoria, are taking legal action against a British tabloid that claimed their “happy marriage” is a sham.

Beckham, the world’s most recognized soccer player, and his wife, the former Posh Spice, are seeking libel damages against the News of the World over an article headlined: “Posh and Becks on the Rocks.” A trial in London’s Law Courts is set for December.

In August, Beckham accepted damages from the tabloid The People for an article that falsely accused him of making hate calls to a former nanny.

Back to playing mommy

Ming-Na has given birth to her second child, an 8-pound, 9-ounce boy named Cooper Dominic Zee.

The 41-year-old actress and her husband, actor-producer-playwright Eric Zee, also have a 4-year-old daughter, Michaela.

Ming-Na played Dr. Deb Chen on “ER.” This season, she appeared on the NBC drama “Inconceivable,” about a fertility clinic, which has since been pulled from the network’s schedule.

No, Mommy, not this cone bra again

Madonna says she’s a strict disciplinarian with her children, 9-year-old Lourdes and 5-year-old Rocco.

The former material girl tells Newsweek that she doesn’t let her children watch TV or look at magazines, and milk and ice cream are also off-limits.

If Lourdes leaves dirty clothes on the floor, she adds, “We take all of her clothes and put them in a bag, and she has to earn all of her clothes back by being tidy. She wears the same outfit every day to school until she learns her lesson.”
