Spokane County residential sales continue strong

Home sales continue to be strong in Spokane County as reflected in the sales figures for September according to the Spokane Association of REALTORS® Multiple Listing Service. Residential sales in September were up 5.8 percent over September 2004 sales.

The average sales price in September was $177,194, down slightly from August’s record number. However, the average sales price reflects a 21-percent increase from September 2004. The average selling price for newly constructed homes that closed in September was $246,501 up 6.7 percent over the $211,108 price for September 2004.

Year-to-date sales activity continues to outpace the 2004 record-setting pace as closed sales are up 4.7 percent through September 2005. The average sales price for the year to date through September is up 15.2 percent at $166,910 compared to $144,828 in 2004. The median year-to-date sales price is $146,450 up 15.4 percent compared to $126,950 in September 2004.

Year-to-date sales of newly constructed homes are up 22.1 percent from September 2004.

The inventory of homes for sale is up over last month, but off approximately 10 percent compared to September 2004.
