Green Bay Packers running back Ahman Green and wide receiver Robert Ferguson were both carted off the field with left knee injuries during Sunday’s loss to the Minnesota Vikings in Minneapolis.

Green was injured in the fourth quarter when he took a handoff off right tackle and was mauled by linebacker E.J. Henderson. He immediately grabbed his knee in pain and had to be lifted onto the cart to be taken to the locker room for X-rays.

Green has battled leg injuries all season and missed the Packers’ previous game because of a thigh injury.

Ferguson left the game in the second quarter after a 44-yard reception. He beat safety Corey Chavous on a post pattern, but as he came down with the ball, he planted his left leg awkwardly and crumpled to the turf.

He lay on the field for several minutes and had to be helped off by Packers trainers. Ferguson was carted to the locker room moments later and didn’t return.

False alarm goes off at Eagles game

A false fire alarm went off at Lincoln Financial Field in the second half of Philadelphia’s game against San Diego.

An announcement over the public-address system appealed for an orderly evacuation, but no one appeared to follow instructions.

The alarm was tripped in the club suite level, Eagles spokeswoman Bonnie Grant said.

“Had it been more serious, even the big screens would have had a message urging everybody to leave,” she said. “All the security would have been alerted to escort everyone out of the stadium.”

Costly victory for Raiders

Defensive backs Charles Woodson and Derrick Gibson were knocked out of Oakland’s win over visiting Buffalo in the first quarter.

Woodson was banged up after making a tackle on Bills running back Willis McGahee with about 4 minutes left. Woodson was attended to by trainers on the field before limping to the sideline with a right calf injury.

Gibson was hurt on the Bills’ opening drive, holding his left wrist as he walked off the field.

Lions lose another receiver

Detroit’s battered wide receiving corps took another blow in a victory over Cleveland when Kevin Johnson sustained a season-ending Achilles’ injury.

The Lions also lost defensive tackle Shaun Rogers, who injured his right medial collateral ligament, and cornerback Dre Bly, who may need surgery on a dislocated wrist.

The Lions were already depleted at wide receiver as Charles Rogers (suspended), Roy Williams (quadriceps) and Eddie Drummond (knee) were inactive for the game.

Dolphins’ Jones likely done for season

Miami Dolphins safety Tebucky Jones had surgery to repair a torn right chest muscle, and is expected to miss the rest of the season.

Jones, injured Friday in Miami’s loss to Kansas City, had 24 tackles and two sacks in six games this season.
