Beautiful Home on cover

The cover of this week’s Home is also this week’s Beautiful Home.

The 10-year-old storybook cottage, located in the Grapetree community on Pinecrest Road on Spokane’s South Hill, is owned by Josh Burrows.

The 3,200-square-foot custom-built home, which took two years to complete, features a copper roof, chimneys that soar five stories and a professionally landscaped lawn and garden.

Burrows says the house, with its unique exterior, is a landmark for couples who frequently appear at his front door asking to take a photograph. “The first thing everyone will say to me is, ‘This is my dream house,’” Burrows says.

The wooded lot glows with fall color, but Burrows says the house comes into its own in the winter.

“Right after a snowfall, when the Christmas lights are up,” he says, “This place is magical.”
