Cougars’ Cowgill breaks collar bone

From staff reports

Washington State sophomore center Robbie Cowgill suffered a broken clavicle in practice and will be out for approximately four weeks, perhaps longer.

Cowgill, who started 19 games last season and is penciled in to be a starter again this year, injured his collar bone while diving for a loose ball. The season opener is just more than three weeks away, so in all likelihood the center will miss some games. Cowgill averaged six points a game in 2004-05.

Another sophomore post player, Chris Henry, participated in about 60 percent of practice Wednesday, his first action of the fall as nagging back trouble has kept him sidelined. Junior college transfer Rodney Edgerson, a possible starter, remains out and awaiting further evaluation as back trouble has prevented him from doing any work with the team thus far.
