Winter Solstice Exhibition open to artists’ applications

The Moscow (Idaho) Arts Commission is seeking artists to submit work for the fifth annual Winter Solstice Exhibition at the Third Street Gallery in Moscow City Hall, 206 E. Third St. Visual interpretations of the winter season are encouraged. The exhibit will run Dec. 2 through Jan. 27. Submission deadline is Nov. 18. Work must be available for installation by Nov. 28.

Up to two projects will be considered from each artist. Submissions should include a photograph of each entry, artist statement and biography.

Seeking volunteers

Musicfest Northwest is looking for new members.

The group, which sponsors an annual competition for young performing artists, meets at 4 p.m. the second Wednesday of every month at 315 W. Mission Ave.

Kudos

Spokane artist JoAnne Nixon has been accepted for signature membership with the San Diego International Watercolor Society.

Over the past 25 years, only 51 artists have been admitted to this group.

• The Comerford School of Irish Dance is offering classes on Thursdays from 3:15 to 5:15 p.m. at A Time to Dance Studio, 3815 N. Post St.

Classes are open to beginning and advanced dancers of all ages.

• Spokane artist Felisa Carranza is offering “Freeing the Spirit” art classes using mixed media at Estudio Felisa ARTE, 612 W. Garland Ave.
