Utah State scored a goal in each half, both off corner kicks, as the Aggies knocked off Idaho 2-0 in Western Athletic Conference women’s soccer action Sunday in Logan, Utah.

The loss, the final game of Idaho’s season, dropped the Vandals to 3-16 overall, 1-6 in the WAC.

Abby Hunt opened the scoring for USU (7-8-4, 4-2-1), getting the Aggies on the board in the 35th minute after the ball bounced to her off a corner kick.

Liz Masson finished things off when a corner in the 73rd minute bounced to her and she put a shot past Vandal keeper Lindsay Smith.

Smith finished the day with eight saves, while Utah State counterpart Kelli Allred needed to make just two to earn the shutout.

The Aggies outshot Idaho 28-6 and held a 6-0 advantage in corners.

“We played very well in the first half and created some chances, but we weren’t able to finish, Idaho head coach Pete Showler said in a press release. “…In the second half we looked really tired.”
