Correspondent

Sneak a peak at what’s happening west of Ironwood Athletic Club on Ironwood Drive in Coeur d’Alene. It’s set back on the 4.5-acre parcel so you don’t immediately see it from the road. But when you look, you can’t miss it.

The Chinook Medical Building metal framework is rising three stories high to accommodate a condominium facility of about 100,000 square feet. It will have a partial basement, indoor parking for 24 cars and outside for 291. Completion should be in the spring. Gordon Longwell is the architect.

Most of the occupants specialize in other-than-male health. Here’s the inhabitants so far, with about 15,000 square feet available, unless one of the incoming businesses decides to use more.

The Women’s Clinic of North Idaho will bring 22 employees from their current facility at 1106 Ironwood Drive, which will be for sale or lease. Drs. Fred Ambrose and Mary Sanderson head the obstetric-gynecology practice.

Twenty people from Health Care for Women will move from 1800 Lincoln Way, which will be leased. OB/GYN specialists Drs. Jon Cutting and Brett Penney will be joined next summer by Dr. Marla Hardenbergh.

OB/GYN clinic Hennenberg & Associates has that surname for a reason. It includes Dr. Anthony Hennenberg, his brother Randel Hennenberg, Anthony’s son Andrew Hennenberg and Dr. Ellen Rock. They’ll bring a staff of 10 from their spaces at 914 Ironwood, which will be for sale or lease. Drs. Jean Prince and Ronda Westcott and Jennifer Torok, nurse practitioner, will bring 13 people from Lakeside Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine at 1111 W. Ironwood. And Dr. Marston Westbrook will bring seven staffers from his oral and maxillofacial surgery practice at 700 Ironwood Drive. Neighboring cardiologists will expand into his space. Chinook owners are Longwell, Ambrose, Sanderson and Anthony and Randel Hennenberg. Longwell described the facility as “Class A” with back-up generators, storage space, two elevators and a drive-up canopy. For space information, phone 772-0503.

KMC business office moves

Continually growing out of its space, Kootenai Medical Center has moved its business offices to the former Empire Airlines building at 2115 Government Way (beside Wild Waters). Thirty-three employees moved and will return to KMC when it expands into the neighboring Panhandle Health building in three or four years.

A few business employees remain at KMC for patient convenience from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays, and the personnel staff will move into the vacated space. The accounting staff will move from its spaces in the Skyview Building to the Government Way offices later.
