Sheridan PTA offers rummage sale

Sheridan Elementary’s PTA Playground committee will hold a back-to-school rummage sale Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 3737 E. Fifth Ave.

Children and adult clothing and household items will be available. Hot dogs and soda will be available.

Spaghetti, art and comedy Katrina benefit

St. George’s School students will present an evening of musical comedy, high-speed photography and pasta on Friday to benefit Katrina relief efforts.

A spaghetti dinner will be held at 5 p.m. in the school’s Upper School Courtyard, 2929 W. Waikiki Road, for a $5 donation.

An opening reception for “Moment of Impact,” a series of high speed, stop-action photographs by alumnus Michael Notar will be held at 6:30 p.m. in the school’s Gilbert Art Gallery. Admission is free.

And to top off the evening, the high school’s drama students will present the comedy “Nunsense” at 7 p.m. on Friday and again Saturday in Founders Theatre. Tickets are $2 for adults and $1 for students.

Community garage sale at Freeman

Freeman High School’s Future Business Leaders of America are sponsoring a community garage sale Saturday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 14626 Jackson Road.

This is a chance for people to clean out their closets and make some money at the same time.

The Freeman High School parking lot will be blocked off for members of the community to sell their used treasures. The lots can be rented for $10 for a 20-feet by 20-feet area and $15 for a 30-by-20 feet area.

Items can be donated at the FBLA booth.

Funds raised will help pay members’ expenses to attend conferences and events.
