Police seeking tips in downtown assault

Police are asking for the public’s help in finding the person or persons responsible for assaulting a man, who remains in critical condition and on life support.

Richard Gregory Morgan, 39, was found at 8 a.m. Thursday lying on a sidewalk near Second Avenue and Madison Street, said police spokesman Dick Cottam in a press release.

Detectives believe Morgan, who suffered a head injury, was assaulted by one or two people shortly before he was found.

Police ask anyone with information on the case to call 911.
