ANALYSIS

Arizona, the chic preseason pick by many to win the NFC West, is 0-2 and has more first downs (38) than points (31). The Cardinals have outgained opponents by 125 yards and they average nearly a seven-minute edge in time of possession. The catch is the Cardinals have trailed most of their two games, they’ve settled for six field goals and they’ve been outrushed by a 2-to-1 margin. That’s a losing formula. Meanwhile, Seattle’s primary weapons – Matt Hasselbeck, Shaun Alexander and Darrell Jackson – appear to be heating up with Bobby Engram, Jerramy Stevens and Joe Jurevicius playing key supporting roles. This one should come down to Seattle’s defense. Kurt Warner has the mobility of a park bench, so some pressure up front would thoroughly disrupt the passing game. If Warner has time, Seattle’s shorter cornerbacks will be at a disadvantage defending tall, physical receivers Anquan Boldin and Larry Fitzgerald. The two have combined for 29 receptions, and they’ll get their share today – just not enough. Prediction: Seahawks 30-23.
