Lake City, Sandpoint settle for soccer tie

SANDPOINT – Lake City and Sandpoint battled to a 1-1 tie on Wednesday night in Inland Empire League girls soccer play.
LC (5-5-2, 1-4-1) took the lead on a Kaitlyn McDonald goal at 32 minutes. McDonald hustled in after a corner kick and scored from 6 yards out when her ball scooted past Bulldogs goalkeeper Sarah Krabacher to the left near post.
The lead stood until Ali Betts’ goal at 62 minutes for Sandpoint (6-4-3, 5-1-1). Sandpoint is in third place, behind Coeur d’Alene (6-1) and Lakeland (6-1-1).
LC keeper Nicole Powers made multiple difficult saves. Krabacher stopped the Timberwolves twice in one-on-one situations.
