•Greater Spokane League: Vince Tschirgi’s three-run double highlighted a seven-run sixth inning as Gonzaga Prep (6-8, 5-7) rallied for an 8-7 win over visiting Clarkston (6-9, 6-8) in the first game of a doubleheader. In the second game, with Clarkston playing as the home team, Kyle Fox led off the bottom of the seventh inning with a double and came home on Jacob Acey’s single as the Bantams won 8-7.
•Great Northern League: Trevor Fox and Cody Yecha each scored on a fielder’s choice in the ninth as Colville (10-4, 9-4) rallied for a 5-4 win over Medical Lake (7-4, 7-3) to complete a doubleheader sweep at Colville. Medical Lake had scored three times in the top of the ninth to take a 4-3 lead. In the first game, Nick Wegeleben threw a complete game, allowing two runs and striking out four as the Indians scored in every inning in a 6-2 win. … Anthony Froemke threw a complete game, striking out seven, as Lakeside (8-5, 8-4) beat Pullman 5-2 in the opener of a doubleheader at Nine Mile Falls. In the second game, Justin Cooper hit a solo home run and finished with three RBIs as Pullman (7-3, 6-3) scored nine times in the first in an 11-1 win. … Taylor McMahon finished the day 5 for 6 as Riverside (9-5, 7-5) swept Chewelah (2-10, 2-8) in a doubleheader at Riverside. In the opener, Jason Paul went six innings with eight strikeouts, no walks and no earned runs in a 7-3 win. In game 2, McMahon was 3 for 3 as Riverside scored all three runs in the first in a 3-1 victory.
•Inland Empire League: Brandon Haas and Uriah Grossglauser each had two-run doubles in a five-run second inning as Post Falls (8-6, 6-6) beat Sandpoint 8-6 in the second game of a doubleheader at Post Falls. In the opener, despite Haas’ home run in the first inning, Sandpoint (8-5, 6-5) came away with a 5-4 victory. … Ross Steele threw a complete-game one-hitter, striking out 12, and Paul Wimer went 3 for 5 with a pair of RBIs as Moscow (5-8, 5-6) shut out host Lakeland (2-9, 0-8) 5-0 in the opener of a doubleheader at Rathdrum. In the second game, Moscow scored seven times in the third to earn a 13-1 victory that was called after five innings.
Track and field
•Tyler Souders won the 400-meter dash and took second in the 200 meters as Medical Lake’s boys won the team title at the Harold Undeberg Invite at Medical Lake High School. Souders finished the 400 in 54.1 seconds, and ran the 200 in 23.95 as Medical Lake finished with 93 team points. Liberty and Reardan each had 81 points to take second. On the girls side, Abby Wren won the 100 and 200, leading Medical Lake to a second-place team finish. Wren finished the 100 in 13.1 seconds, .07 ahead of Reardan’s Kylie Casselberry. In the 200, Wren crossed the finish line in 27.34, .05 ahead of Lind-Ritzville’s Marie Hunt. As a team, ML finished with 97 points, second only to Quincy’s 108.5.
Softball
•Great Northern League: Carey Campbell had three hits, including a homer, and four RBIs, and Emily Kearns went 4 for 4 with three runs scored as Medical Lake (10-4, 3-3) rallied for seven runs in the final two innings of an 11-9 win over visiting Chewelah (8-3, 2-2) in the opener of a doubleheader. In game 2, Campbell homered again and finished with another four RBIs as the Cardinals completed the sweep with a 12-6 win. … Kayle Leliefield had a two-run double, and Kenzie Lee was 2 for 3 with two doubles and two runs scored as Deer Park (2-8, 1-6) held on for a 7-6 win in the second game of a doubleheader at Riverside. In the first game, Megan Sanders was 2 for 3 with two triples and two runs scored as Riverside (4-4, 1-1) won 12-2. … Heather Hesselgesser was 3 for 4 with two homers and three RBIs as Lakeside (3-9, 2-5) won the opener of a doubleheader against Pullman 6-5 at Nine Mile Falls. In the second game, Pullman (7-4, 3-1) scored three times in the top of the seventh for a 5-2 win.

Steven Kuck had two goals and two assists, and Jaini Rebuelta scored twice as Riverside (7-4, 6-3) routed visiting Chewelah (0-10, 0-9) 8-0. … Matt Dougherty’s goal in the 19th minute brought Deer Park to within one, but it was as close as the Stags (6-6, 6-4) would come, as Medical Lake (4-8, 4-5) earned a 2-1 win at Deer Park.
