Hole-in-one highlights Liberty Lake play

A hole-in-on highlighted the start of Club Championship play for Liberty Lake Ladies 18 Hole Women’s golfers.

Rose Jones aced the 11th hole with an eight iron and advanced to the next round during match play competition.

Jones, Jackie Shea, Caryn McComas and Jan Rooney all reached the semifinals with wins.

In first flight, Elsa Metting, Raouleen Grimes, Marie Nelson and Louise Newtson moved on.

Second flight winners were Dorothy Womach, Jody Cantrell, Noreen Sale and Maggie Steffy.

Painted Hills week

Medal play during the week of Aug. 14 produced flight leaders in the Painted Hills Ladies League.

Karen Goyins shot 52 in A flight, Sammie Fletcher finished at 55 in B flight, Elaine Lukes shot 53 in C and Emma Long 62 in D for respective low gross bests.

Net winners were Gail Bailey and Patricia Gore with 37s in A and B flights respectively, Gloria Knauss with 39 in C and Pat Reiter with 34 in D.

Knauss on the 15th hole, Gore on No. 16 and Joyce Jacobs on No. 12 all had chip-ins.

LL Nine Hole Club

Weekly winners were reported during Thursday’s medal play for Liberty Lake Ladies Nine Hole Golf Club.

Karen Strauss shot low gross 50 to win first flight. Janice Smith recorded a net 39.

Second flight winners were Mary Ann Wilharm with low gross 60, Joanne Ruddell and Mary Ann Barham with net 39s.

In third flight, Lee King shot 63 and Judy Booth netted 36.

Freda Bergt was no-handicap winner, while Nancy Smith and Lu Benjamin both had chip-ins.

Trailhead Club news

Cherie Milsap recorded the week’s low score during Trailhead Ladies Golf Club competition.

She shot 46 in A flight, while Sandi Hatcher shot 55 in B and Barb Gunderson 54 in C. No-handicap winner was Bev Sloan with 62.

Net winners were Sammie Fletcher with 31 in A flight, Joy Russell with 25 in B and Eileen Couper with 25 in C.
