Indians rally in 9th for win
PASCO – The Spokane Indians won for the seventh time in August, defeating the Tri-City Dust Devils 4-3 in Northwest League action on Saturday night.
The Indians (22-44) rallied in the top of the ninth inning and scored two runs in the comeback victory.
Christopher Davis, leading off the ninth, reached third base on a throwing error by pitcher William Harris, who had just entered the game.
Harris also walked K.C. Herren and Billy Killian to load the bases.
Nickolas Cadena’s two-out single to right scored Davis and Herren.
In T-C’s first, Anthony Jackson singled, advanced to second on Steve Boggs’ groundout, and scored on catcher Billy Killian’s throwing error after chasing down Juan Carlos Garcia’s wild pitch.
Spokane tied the score at 1 in the top of the fifth. With two outs, Killian tripled and scored on a Cadena double.
Hector Gomez’s RBI single and Boggs’ RBI on a hit batter allowed T-C (34-32) to take a 3-1 lead in its fifth.
The final game of the three-game series is tonight in Pasco at 7:15.
The Indians begin a three-game series at Boise on Tuesday and return home Friday for a three-game homestand with Yakima.
Spokane closes the season with three games in Yakima.
