Patient arrested in computer theft
A Spokane Valley man was arrested last week after deputies found he had stolen computer equipment from the medical offices where he was receiving treatment.
Daniel K. Fisher, 54, of 8323 E. Harrington Ave., faces multiple theft-related charges after deputies say he took computers from the ultrasound rooms of Rockwood Clinic on East Fifth Avenue and Inland Imaging on South Cowley Street, said Spokane County Sheriff’s spokesman Sgt. Dave Reagan.
Security video from Rockwood Clinic showed a man who appeared to be Fisher walking out of the clinic with a computer tower, monitor and keyboard. The security officer there recognized the man as someone who had just filled a prescription in the building, Reagan said.
Deputies searched Fisher’s home and interviewed Fisher. The suspect said he had sold the computer equipment to a computer recycling company, Reagan said. Deputies found some of the equipment at the business.
Fisher was arrested and booked into the Spokane County Jail on counts of theft, possession of stolen property and trafficking in stolen goods, Reagan said.
